What Is The Best Energy Drink?
When technology meets a tired person, an energy drink is born. Despite huge technological innovations within the past five years, mankind has not yet been able to stave off good-old fatigue and tiredness. The past five years has seen the proliferation of myriad mood-altering beverages of all shapes, sizes, flavors and colors. Some products are definitely better than others, but the question still remains: what is the best energy drink?
Before these beverages were even around, people loved—and still do—the morning pick-me-up a cup of coffee would provide. Starbucks and later competitors made coffee sexy by importing the Italian coffeehouse feel to every street corner in North America and many other developed areas of the world, and coffee became even more of a morning staple. Throughout all of this coffee mania, many people have noticed negative side affects: “coffee jitters”, irritability (once the high wears off), insomnia and mild addiction. These side effects have become a strong deterrent to drinking coffee in recent years for health-conscious individuals.
Many people love to drink various types of teas for a power boost. In southern South America (and now commonly elsewhere too), many people are known to religiously take mate, an herbal tea that provides a strong stimulant. Mate and other teas often give people headaches when they don’t take them, and produce irritability and a mild addictive effect similar to coffee.
Which Drink Is The Best Energy Drink
Red Bull was the first company to start the energy drinks craze in to the US. It still remains the best-selling one today, and is the litmus test against which all other such beverages are judged.
Monster is another well-known brand in the business. Monster is a favorite with consumers for selling a beverage twice the size of a Red Bull for the same price. Red Bull and Monster are considered to give about the same boost and taste, but with a different price. Monster drinks have way more sugar, taurine and caffeine than Red Bull, unless you get the Monster Lo Carb, which is a less powerful beverage.
The 5-hour Energy Drink has recently risen to become another industry favorite. The most fascinating aspect of 5-hour is that it is so tiny: it comes in 2 ounce bottles for about $2.50 a piece. It is packed with 2000 percent of the daily value of vitamin B6, 8,333 percent of the daily value of vitamin B12, and 100 mg of caffeine. It has zero carbs, and although it does pack a punch, many think that it has little flavor.
Rockstar is another recent industry addition. This one separates itself from the pack by adding healthy herbal stimulants in addition to sugar, caffeine and vitamin B. It has become very popular because of its unique flavors and list of herbal ingredients, including guarana, ginkco and ginseng.
Is Crave the Best Energy Drink
Another newcomer that is taking the industry by storm is the Crave Energy Drink. This beverage packs many of the
advantages of the older ones without the disadvantages. Crave is inexpensive ($.75 per serving) and healthier than most of the other drinks. Yes, it does have caffeine, but it only has 9 calories and 1 gram of sugar. It uses herbal ingredients such as guarana, & B vitamins. Crave’s energy surge is comparable to the other industry beverages (lasting 2-3 hours), but it does not cause a “crash” after the surge. Many note that the its taste is preferable to most others in the industry, as it does not have carbonation or an aftertaste. One of the most interesting benefits of this drink is that it has a fat-burning complex, something no other industry beverage contains.
So what is the best energy drink? You’ll have to try for yourself to see!
